About
I’m a wife, mother, and native Texan that has always been curious about how to eradicate the wealth gap in the African American community. This curiosity stemmed from my own personal struggles with financial and credit management. As I began educating myself, I discovered that others in my community could benefit from the information as well.

In 2010, I co-authored Rags to Riches: A Guide to Bridging the Wealth Gap in the African American Community. The release of the book was timely as we were in the middle of a recession. After the release of my book, I started blogging, but after the birth of my last son and the demands of my career, I took a hiatus.
2020 has been a time of reflection for me. I know that many of us wouldn’t mind hitting a reset button on the year, but I’m thankful for the ‘pause’. In addition to the pandemic and the civil unrest, we are now in the midst of another economic downturn. I have been restless for some time, but my first priority has and will always be to my family. Now that the boys are older, I’m ready to continue to fulfill what I believe is a core part of my purpose. In addition, after reviewing past Posts, I realized that many are still very relevant.
I’m excited to be back, and I hope you’ll join me on the journey to financial freedom and eradicating the wealth gap in our community.
